Responsibilities
Review/approve colors on a timely manner
Provide professional advice and make commercial judgment on marginal situations
Keep track of color submissions and progress; monitor and follow through approval within agreed time frame
Work closely with key mills/print houses and major dyestuff suppliers to ensure they are using fit for purpose recipes and chemicals
Support trims /components color matching
Work on instrumental methods of color control and measurement. Able to manage spectral data for objective communication
Train suppliers, colorists and associates in other production countries to adopt the same standard for reviewing & communicating color issues
Handle raw material quality assessment, e.g. test report review, risk assessment
Ensure yarn developments are production viable and be able to technically develop. Provide support and advice to Yarn and Garment Vendors
Manage prints development and production
Review test reports from suppliers to assure raw materials meet customer standards and daily maintain and up-date internal system
Requirements
DSE / Form 5 or above
10 years practical experience in the industry of, prefer Sweater development and production
Understanding the operation of dyeing mills, sweater yarn production, knitting and testing
A good understanding of the operations and application of color spectrophotometry
Support trims /components color matching
Basic knowledge on sweater production from yarn to finished knitwear
Ability to interpret customer’s needs and “describe” products
Good communication skills and provide technical input
