Duties
Lead the Sales & Market Development Section to develop, drive and implement overall sales and distribution strategies that aligns with the company's objectives and targets. This includes identifying market trends, customer preferences, and conducting competitor analysis to drive business growth
Maintain strong business relationships and develop partnerships with key OTAs and contracted travel agents in the Mainland China. Allocate promotion resources efficiently across different sales channels. Monitor and optimize marketing campaigns to maximize ROI and achieve visitation and revenue targets
Grow stronger business relationships with specific markets and identify new business opportunities, expand market share and develop sales strategies to enter new markets to increase overall revenue
Attend trade networking events, industry conferences, and exhibitions to establish and maintain relationships with key industry players, potential partners, and clients. Leverage these connections to enhance brand visibility and explore new business opportunities
Plan and execute tactical promotions, road shows, and other marketing initiatives, with a specific focus on the Greater Bay Area
Engage and collaborate with various influencers and stakeholders, including government agencies, transportation companies, tourism bureaus, and banks, to increase brand awareness and drive visitation across China. Build and maintain strong relationships to leverage support and resources for boosting margins for existing accounts
Lead and promote education programs targeting student groups in China. Develop partnerships with educational institutions, organize educational events, and implement marketing strategies to attract student visitors
Requirements
Degree in Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related discipline
Minimum 10 years' relevant experience, of which 4 years should be at managerial level
Proven track record in sales and marketing, preferably within the Chinese market
In-depth knowledge of the Chinese tourism industry, market trends, and consumer behavior
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop effective sales strategies and achieve targets
Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities to establish connections with industry stakeholders and key decision-makers
Experience in planning and executing promotional activities, road shows, and events
Familiarity with digital marketing and eCommerce platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
Hold a valid travel document and willing to travel to and from Mainland China and other major tourist source countries on a regular basis
