Tax Manager (Singapore based)

Our client is a market-leading company operating in 25+ global markets. They are currently looking for a detail-focused and competent Tax Manager to oversee full-scope Singapore and regional tax matters.

* 70% Singaporean Tax and 30% on regional tax
* One of the market-leading players in the industry
* At least 1 year of experience working in a manager position at Big4



Job responsibilities:

1 Tax advisory

1 To provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders on the changes/development of tax regulations in the tax jurisdictions
2 To provide recommendations to stakeholders on any businesses which may have tax implications depending on the options chosen and propose mitigation plan/other options, if any
3 To provide tax advice and support to stakeholders to effectively manage potential tax exposure/ disputes
4 To propose and lead optimization projects to balance business and tax efficiency
5 To work closely with stakeholders to provide tax advice to optimize the Company's holding structure efficiency



1 Tax controversies

1 To oversee tax controversy cases
2 To provide strategies to defend the Company's tax positions
3 To lead and be the key controller to all communications with the tax bureaus in various tax jurisdictions
4 To formulate and lead improvement plan/defense/optimization to monitor routine direct/indirect tax assessments, defend tax audits/controversies of company's tax returns/position/compliance and/or balance business and tax efficiency
5 To prepare tax enquiries to both internal and external parties to ensure full compliance



Qualification

* Bachelor's degree in finance & Accounting or related disciplines; CPA qualification is a must
* At least 7 years of comprehensive Singapore tax experience in Big 4 or Big 4 + commercial firms
* Need to work as a manager position in Big 4 for at least 1 year
* Familiarities of corporate income/VAT/GST in other jurisdictions
* Extensive experience on tax defense and negotiation with tax authorities
* Excellence in analytical, problem-solving, reporting and presentation skills
* Fluence in both Mandarin and English
* Self-driver and quick adaptability in cross-function collaborations with people/teams from different background
