Description:

Our client, , Global insurance company, is now looking for Senior IT Project Manager to join their technical development teams.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Good knowledge of life insurance domain - Knowledge of business processes, products and systems
  2. Experience in large scale policy admin enhancement or migration projects
  3. Excellent communication in English and Cantonese is required for this role.
  4. Not open to expats.

 

• Scope Management: Ensure project scope is documented, ratified, and baselined. Continue to contain and manage the scope effectively throughout the project.

 

Schedule Management:

o Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully  complete the project implementation

o Develop a schedule for project execution including design, development, testing and cutover  activities. Plan iterative releases and sprints to complete the build and testing. Schedule

management is a key requirement for this role

• Change Management: Work with regional and country change managers to prepare and implement a

business change management and training plan.

• Benefit Management: Determine the business objectives and benefits. Post deployment track and  measure the business KPIs against these benefits

• Track and monitor the program to ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at  the required level of quality

 

Stakeholder Management:

o Ability to identify and engage with key project stakeholders throughout the project duration.

o Co-ordinate and guide the business analysts, architects, development and testing teams and work

closely with country IT and business teams to achieve project milestones and objectives

• Resource & vendor management:

o Determine and onboard the resources required to execute the project

o Provide technical expertise and business acumen to the project team which strengthens and  develops the program delivery capability.

o Oversee multi-vendor teams to ensure clear requirements for products and services to enable the  delivery of the project

 

Governance & Reporting:

o Manage, coordinate and report on the project to create clear visibility and transparency of delivery  and financial performance

o Establish appropriate governance of the project to ensure the right results are delivered through

the agreed mechanisms and thresholds

• Risk and Issue Management: Effective management of resources to drive resolution of identified project

issues and risks and gain internal and/or external buy-in that risks and issues are effectively mitigated within  desired tolerance levels.

 

Cost Management:

o Estimate costs needed to execute the project based on scope, timeline and resources.

o Work in collaboration with the PMO to provide monthly financial status update

 

Education:

• Masters or High Ranking Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience & Competencies Required

• Good knowledge of life insurance domain - Knowledge of business processes, products and systems

• Proven experience of multi-vendor, multi-location projects and have managed large teams of at least more  than 50-100 resources

• Experience in large scale policy admin enhancement or migration projects

• Expert knowledge of complex and interdependent projects and continuous improvement methodologies,  techniques, tools and controls

• Excellent communication in English and Cantonese is required for this role

• Broad knowledge of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle (including Agile)

• Experience in one or more of the technology stack is preferred - Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, ReactJS, Azure
