General Manager, Production (in Vietnam)
Join a renowned European woven manufacturer as the General Manager Production, overseeing operations in Vietnam (Hanoi and Haiphong) and Indonesia (Semarang).
This role requires an industry expert to manage a substantial business with over 1500 employees in the region.
Reporting to the Managing Director of their overseas business, you will lead the production operations across merchandising, R&D, production & quality, logistics, finance, and HR.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage all operations within the manufacturing plants, regularly reviewing and analyzing organizational structure, production quality, capacity, machinery standards, compliance, and costs.
* Provide guidance in technical development and pattern making.
* Lead the QC team within the company's factories and at partner factories.
* Act as the strategic hub for manufacturing, industrial engineering, and manufacturing excellence.
* Innovate in manufacturing processes, equipment, and digitization.
* Ensure safety and compliance standards are met, working with CSR teams to improve and sustain performance.
* Foster a harmonious working environment while ensuring efficiency and high-quality production.
* Train and develop employees to meet corporate standards.
* Establish and monitor KPIs to drive manufacturing excellence.
* Ensure production schedules and deliveries are met, collaborating closely with merchandising teams.
* Drive maximum production efficiency at competitive costs and high product quality.
* Provide technical support to internal and external parties during development and production stages.
* Manage communications and coordination with local authorities on relevant government affairs.
* Strategically evaluate and analyze potential expansion into new regions through partnerships, outsourcing, or new factories.
Requirements:
* Degree in textiles, fashion, manufacturing, or a related field.
* Over 15 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a general management role.
* Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, machinery, technical aspects, and material control.
* Extensive experience in manufacturing across Asia.
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Detail-oriented, ethical, and strong interpersonal skills.
* Role based in Vietnam with monthly travel to Indonesia.
