We are looking for a knowledgeable renewable energy expert to join a multinational financial institution. The team conducts reviews of companies within the target sector to enable investment and financing decisions as well as providing unbiased and independent industrial opinions and judgments on the wider sector.

Key Responsibilities:

* Evaluate power companies and projects, with a focus on renewable energy sources like solar, wind, hydro, and storage solutions.
* Assist in creating internal reports on the APAC energy sector, covering growth, energy mix, regulations, market prices, and transition scenarios.
* Act as a liaison with business and risk teams on low-carbon technologies (e.g., green hydrogen, CCUS, bioenergy) in coordination with the HQ team.
* Support global risk studies on ESG topics and incorporate ESG factors into credit assessments in APAC.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (i.e. clients, risk, and investment banking committee).
* Present clear and concise opinions at credit and screening committees.
* Provide sector study briefings to APAC staff and management in coordination with HQ team.
* Ensure Industry Research remains the go-to source for industrial knowledge in covered sectors.

Professional Qualifications / Candidate Profile:

* Industry expert in the electricity sector, especially renewable energy in APAC.
* Engineering degree or similar qualification.
* At least seven 7+ of experience in the renewable energy sector and project management.
* Familiarity with low-carbon technologies (particularly solar panels and wind energy) and ESG issues in APAC.
* Proficient in English, with strong analytical, communication, and synthesis abilities. Putonghua fluency an additional advantage.
* Capable of independent judgment, working autonomously, and effectively sharing knowledge.
* Financial acumen is required but formal on the job training to develop skills in this area will be provided.
