Responsibilities:

• Oversee/supervise the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounting entries posting, expense processing, financial control, month-end closing works etc.

• Prepare and/or review financial reports including HKMA full set banking returns, DPS relevant deposit return, financial reporting, management reporting, Head Office reporting or other regulatory bodies reporting

• Assist the HK branch to comply the statutory tax requirements include Profits Tax computation, Country-by-Country notification, Top-up tax notification and Top-up tax return

• Prepare a full set banking disclosure statement in accordance with the Banking (Disclosure) Rules on quarterly basis

• Update and implement process documentation e.g. accounting policy, desktop procedure manual, return preparation manual etc.

• Provide supports to Accounting team member include GL posting, expense processing and other daily accounting routines if necessary

• Provide guidance and on the job training to team member with issues/problems concerned

• Get involved in the system enhancement and UAT testing related to regulatory or reporting issues

• Liaise with internal and external auditors, Head Office and other stakeholders

• Keep abreast of new accounting related regulatory and financial reporting requirements

• Require to work on non-working days to meet the reporting deadlines during the peak season months

• Acting as a back-up for Head of Finance

• Other duties as assigned by Head of Finance, Chief Executive/Alternate Chief Executive and Head Office

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related with CPA qualification preferred

• At least 15 years of relevant experience in the financial accounting and reporting in the banking industry with an experience in managing a small accounting team

• Knowledge of HKMA regulatory reporting requirements is a must

• Hands on experience in the daily operation of accounting department is a must

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Macros, SQL, VBA, etc.) is a plus

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, good time management and able to manage multiple tasks independently

• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines

• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
