Job Responsibilities

    • Supervise front-of-house (hosts, servers, bussers, bartenders) and back-of-house staff (kitchen supervisors, line cooks, prep cooks) as needed; provide coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback.
    • Maintain high standards for Chinese cuisine food quality, presentation, and portion control; communicate culinary standards to kitchen team and monitor consistency.
    • Deliver exceptional guest service: greet guests, handle seating and reservations, respond promptly to guest feedback and complaints, and ensure timely recovery.
    • Oversee staff scheduling, timekeeping, and labor cost control; prepare and adjust weekly schedules to meet business needs while controlling labor expense.
    • Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and storage of food, beverages, and supplies; track waste and implement measures to reduce food cost.
    • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations (e.g., HACCP, local codes); conduct regular line and storage inspections.
    • Support training and onboarding programs for new hires with emphasis on Chinese cuisine menu knowledge (ingredients, allergens, cooking methods) and cultural hospitality standards where applicable.
    • Monitor and analyze daily sales, cash handling, and banking; complete nightly deposits or cash reports as required.
    • Implement promotions, POS updates, and menu changes in coordination with management and chef; provide input on menu items based on guest feedback and sales performance.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment; coordinate maintenance and repairs.
    • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring when requested; help build a diverse and reliable team.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in restaurant supervision or lead roles; prior experience in Chinese or Asian-style restaurants preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of front- and back-of-house operations, POS systems, cash handling, and basic accounting principles.
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
