Responsible for leading global trim product development function across hang tags, woven labels, printed labels, and other garment trim accessories.
Quotation and sampling process end to end, ensuring delivers competitive commercial solutions, high-quality development execution, and reliable service to customers.
The role is also accountable for the P&L performance of the trim product line and for managing the associated team headcount to ensure the right organizational setup, capability, and cost base to deliver business
As a key link between the commercial teams, suppliers, and production teams, the Head of Trim drives alignment, speed, and consistency across the development process to support customer satisfaction, margin performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop the global trim product development team, establishing clear priories, performance standards, and consistent ways of working across regions.
Oversee regional/local team’s ownership on end-to-end quota on and sampling process for hang tags, woven labels, printed labels, and other garment trim accessories, from customer brief through development approval and production handover.
Set global standards to support all quotations to be accurate, timely, and commercially competitive while aligned with margin expectations, customer requirements, and supplier capacities.
Own the P&L performance of the trim product line, driving revenue, margin, cost management, and profitability in line with company targets.
Manage the trim product organization headcount and resource planning, ensuring the team structure, capability, and cost base are aligned with business priories and growth plans.
Partner closely with commercial teams to translate customer needs into development priories and deliver commercially relevant, solution-driven trim proposals.
Work in close collaboration with suppliers and production teams to assess feasibility, costing drivers, technical requirements, and lead times, ensuring scalable and execution-ready
Drive sampling excellence by ensuring samples meet brand and customer expectations in quality, presentation, and timeliness.
Improve speed, consistency, and quality across quotation and sampling workflows by implementing effective processes, clear standards, and performance management routines.
Build strong supplier partnerships that support objectives in competiveness, service reliability, innovation, and delivery performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, product, operations, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution from development to production.
Identify risks, solve development and product-related delivery issues proactively, and escalate key challenges with recommended actions and migration plans.
Use data, service metrics, and team performance indicators to improve decision-making, resource planning, and overall development effectiveness.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience and Profile
Substantial experience in trim product development, sourcing, merchandising, production within the apparel, trims, or accessories industry.
Strong technical and commercial understanding of hang tags, woven labels, printed labels, and other garment trim accessories, including materials, finishes, sampling, costing, and production considerations.
Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to develop teams, create accountability, and drive performance in a global or multi-regional environment.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance customer expectations, service levels, operational feasibility, and profitability.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across commercial, supplier, and operational interfaces to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across functions and cultures.
Structured, solution-oriented, and detail-focused, with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Solid experience with product development systems, costing tools, and performance reporting.
Relevant academic background in textiles, apparel, product development, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
