The Flying Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of station module assembly, on-site logistic hubs and processing stations that handle structure steel, precast concrete, architectural builders’ works and finishes (ABWF), and electrical & mechanical (E&M) components. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality handling, staging, and pre-installation of materials to support fast-track construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Material Handling
Supervise unloading, staging, and temporary processing of structural steel and precast elements;
Oversee ABWF materials (tiles, panels, cladding, etc.) to ensure proper storage and protection;
Manage E&M components including prefabricated mechanical/electrical modules, ensuring compliance with safety and installation standards;
Coordinate lifting and rigging operations with crane teams;
Conduct quality checks before materials are released for installation.
Logistics & Coordination
Establish and manage logistics hubs/stations for temporary processing;
Develop material flow plans to minimize double-handling and optimize crane/hoist usage;
Implement inventory tracking systems for materials at each hub;
Align deliveries with site installation schedules to avoid congestion.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce site-specific safety protocols for heavy lifting, welding, and electrical works;
Conduct risk assessments for temporary processing stations;
Ensure compliance with local construction regulations and environmental standards.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead teams of logistics coordinators, foremen, and skilled trades;
Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve bottlenecks;
Report daily progress and issues to senior construction management.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track productivity metrics (e.g., turnaround time for steel cutting, staging efficiency);
Maintain records of material usage, wastage, and rework;
Provide weekly dashboards on logistics hub performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field;
Minimum 9-12 years of experience in construction logistics, precast/steel handling, or factory operations;
Strong knowledge of E&M systems, ABWF materials, and precast installation processes;
Familiarity with lean construction, modular assembly, and just-in-time delivery;
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
