Responsibilities

• Evaluate garment sample in terms of fit/balance, measurement, construction, sewing, workmanship, functional performances and appearance

• Identify potential problems of the samples that may arise during production, and make practical suggestion on how to mitigate the risk

• The ability to interpret design intends, amend/create graded specifications and/or pattern when needed

• Liaise with factories' Technician or Pattern Maker to resolve fitting or construction issues; to ensure all products are brand values

• Provide technical advice and/or training to vendors/factoies

• Work in teandem with merchandising, quality, US technical and Product Development teams to ensure deadlines and company goals are met

• Support other team members when needed to meet deadlines

• Participate line reviews and own line review comments to vendors/factories

• Compile and update technical information as tool for future reference and/or training

• Orientation and development of new vendors including technical assessment and on boarding

• Support the Office Director in Shanghai and Technical Design Team in progressing strategic initatives projects and any ad-hoc tasks

• Any other projects/duties as assigned by superior

Requirements

• DSE / Form 5 or above in fashion/textile engineering, technical design, or related discipline

• 5 years' solid technical design experience preferably in ladies' wear

• Sound knowledge of manufacturing process, pattern-making, grading, sewing and garment construction

• Experience working in a buying office environment, including communicating with headquarter product development, technical team and buyers

• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with vendors/factories, merchandising team and quality team across China and /overseas countries

• Need to travel to factory to work with factory technical and production team to resolve problem on spot where it happens

• Strong organizational and prioritizing skills

• Good problem solving and negotiation skills

• Deadline-driven and committed to quality deliverable

• Business standard of both spoken and written English and ability to read and write Chinese

• Good level of computer and system literacy with software like Adobe lllustrator, PLM(Flex), and CAD
