Responsibilities
Attend meetings with Sourcing units to understand their operation needs, prepare supply agreements, review supply agreements and other legal, sustainability and compliance documents relating to Sourcing. Expected to provide direct legal support to Sourcing units
Understand, assess and review Sourcing operations and processes to identify legal and regulatory requirements for compliance areas for advising Senior Legal Counsel and support communication to Sourcing units
Support the implementation of Group Sourcing sustainability projects
Attend meetings with Functions to understand their needs, prepare contracts/documents, reviewing contracts/documents and advising Functions. Expected to provide direct legal support to Functions
Develop, enhance and manage relationships with key stakeholders
Conduct legal research and provide preliminary analysis and legal advice on legal matter to Senior Legal Counsel
Support and maintain company secretariat matters in HK, China, Vietnam and Thailand (and any other APAC regions when business develops)
Assist and support Senior Legal Counsel on implementation of Group Policies and Corporate Governance through rules & guidance and through close and proactive collaboration with Sourcing and Functions to ensure compliance with Group Policy, Corporate Governance and relevant laws and regulations
Support implementation of Personal Data Privacy Compliance Program for Sourcing legal entities
Support Sourcing legal department in all legal and related matters
Keep alert and abreast of new laws and regulations of the APAC region and keep Senior Legal Counsel informed of new laws and regulations with recommendations and action plans developed when necessary
Providing Legal support on Ad hoc projects
Understand, learn and use all platforms and tools utilized by Sourcing / Sourcing Legal Department for managing suppliers, contract management, corporate governance
Requirements
Degree or above
Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdiction with at least 3 years of post-qualification, with practicing certificate (capacity to certifying original document as solicitor)
3 - 6 years working experience with reputable law firms and/or international companies with legal knowledge in APAC region (including China), in-house experience is preferrable
In-house experience gained from sourcing or manufacturing industry is an advantage
Presentable and good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin)
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing
Good interpersonal skills
Possess strong sense of ownership
Well organized and attention to details
Mature and independent, self-motivated and adaptable with positive “can-do “attitude
Multi-tasking
Stable with high level of integrity
