The Tufts in Hong Kong program supports Tufts undergraduates enrolled at partner universities in Hong Kong. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and pursue a wide range of academic disciplines including—but not limited to—Engineering, International Relations, and the Humanities. To effectively support students and engage with local partners, the Program Manager must be fluent in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
Program Manager
Position Overview
The Program Manager (PM) is a student-centered professional who supports Tufts undergraduates as they navigate studying and living abroad. The ideal candidate is passionate about intercultural learning and has experience in student affairs, program coordination, and cross-cultural communication. The PM will assist students with housing,academic engagement, wellness support, and cultural integration while overseeing essential administrative processes.
 
This role combines elements of administrative operations, student support, and event planning. The PM will coordinate with local partners and the Tufts Global Education team to deliver high-quality programming and ensure students’ well-being throughout their time abroad. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
 
This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong SAR, China.

Enrollment & Administrative Management
• Track student applications, enrollment, advising records, and local contact information.
• Monitor the completion of program requirements and manage pre-departure communication.
• Oversee academic registration and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in updating registration systems and pre-departure materials.
 
Program Operations
•Plan and implement pre-departure preparation, in-country orientation, student housing assignments, and program excursions.
•Assist with student financial records, housing registration, and logistics related to travel and events.
 
Financial Administration
•Maintain detailed financial records related to student housing, excursions, space rentals,and program expenses.
•Support reconciliation and reporting of program costs. Housing Coordination
•Coordinate with local universities to arrange student housing.
•Provide students with information about housing options before and during the program.
•Participate in on-site meetings, respond to housing concerns, and provide support throughout the semester.
 
Health, Safety, and Wellness
•Work with the Director and U.S.-based team to communicate health, safety, and wellness protocols.
•Assist students in accessing physical and mental health resources.
•Hold regular office hours and support students during emergencies.
 
Program Assessment
•Collaborate on evaluation strategies including surveys, feedback sessions, and postprogram analysis.
•Help implement improvements to enhance student experience and program effectiveness.
•Assist in launching new initiatives and custom projects. Student Communication and Outreach
•Provide clear and empathetic communication to students navigating cultural transitions and logistical requirements.
•Maintain updated program handbooks and resources.
•Contribute to social media presence and monitor relevant channels.
•Coordinate arrival and in-program email communications.
 
Educational and Cultural Programming
•Facilitate pre-arrival orientation, online learning modules, and re-entry programming.
•Organize field trips, cultural events, and enrichment activities.
•Support the academic advising process and create student development resources.

Qualifications
•Must be legally authorized to work in Hong Kong.
•Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua, and English.
•University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent); Master’s preferred.
•5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
•Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate attention to detail.
•Commitment to intercultural learning and inclusive excellence.
•Experience in student affairs, academic advising, or education abroad.
•Strong computer skills; comfort with systems such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite,TerraDotta, Canvas, Qualtrics, Zoom, WordPress, and Canva.
•Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
•Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
•Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
•Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
 
Additional Information
Location: Hong Kong
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening/weekend obligations
Travel: Required (local, regional and international)
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications Salary range 42,000 to 57,000 USD
(327,600 -444,600 HKD) annually
Remote/On-site: Based in Hong Kong with flexibility to work from home and attend in-person program events
