Technical Manager (Ref# 066720)

Responsibilities
1. R&D and Technology Development

  • Lead the design and development of innovative materials, fabrics, and technologies

  • Conduct research on cutting-edge solutions for performance enhancements, including moisture-wicking, breathability, stretch, and durability

  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of new products and technologies

  • Drive the adoption and feasibility of manufacturing & efficiency

2. Project Management

  • Plan, organize, and manage R&D projects from concept to completion

  • Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure deadlines are met

  • Monitor project progress and resolve technical challenges as they arise

  • identify patentable innovations, collaborate team to document, apply, file, manage IP and secure patent

  • Performed fitting, evaluate or create tech pack, provide technical advice to designer & buyer to meet with brand standards, requirements and aesthetic,  helped production to resolve technical & production challenges

3. Team Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with design, production, and sales teams to align technical innovations with brand vision and consumer needs

  • Work closely with suppliers, designer, and manufacturing partners to implement new technologies into production

  • Participate in cross-functional brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas and solutions

4. Quality and Compliance 

  • Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and performance standards

  • Conduct thorough testing of prototypes for factors such as durability, comfort, and functionality

  • Stay updated on industry regulations and certifications related to textiles and performance wear

5. Industry Research and Trends

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and consumer preferences in the performance market

  • Attend trade shows, workshops, and conferences to identify new opportunities for innovation

  • Benchmark against competitors and identify areas for improvement 


Requirements

  • DSE / Form 5 or above

  • At least 5 years related work experience 

  • Experience in R&D, product development, or technical roles in textile, or performance apparel industry

  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful products or technologies

  • Strong knowledge of textile properties, performance features, and advanced manufacturing processes.  Proficiency in testing protocols, quality assurance, and compliance standards

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead projects and collaborate with diverse teams

  • Experience with smart textiles, wearable technology, Knowledge of CAD, 3D modeling, or simulation tools for textile and garment design are an advantages
