DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
Scientific Officer (Ref. 241128001-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) operate, maintain and calibrate scientific and engineering equipment and software, including laser cutters and 3-D printers;
(b) train users on the use of such equipment and software;
(c) manage teaching laboratories of the Unit;
(d) support students’ projects and implement teaching tools; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, with five or more years of relevant experience;
(b) preferably experience in running laboratories related to the following areas: (i) IoT/embedded systems, (ii) communication and internet, (iii) computer/MCU programming and applications; or (iv) power engineering; and
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
