Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of fabrics, coordinating and negotiating with vendors on price, quality, quantity, and lead times

• Ensure adherence to sourcing schedules to meet delivery requirements

• Work proactively with suppliers, designers, and merchandisers to identify key and novel fabrics aligned with the procurement strategy

• Assist in delivering and executing the overall procurement strategy and vision

• Research fabric trends and technological developments

• Collaborate with the team to add value for customers and reduce purchasing costs

• Place orders for test fabrics, proto yardage, and track progress

• Maintain seasonal fabric detail charts and fabric libraries, coordinate goods between fabric mills and garment factories

• Oversee and validate Work in Progress tracking and production calendar dates

• Plan and monitor production deliveries, review, and track vendor performance

• Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations to management

• Identify and forge relationships with key strategic procurement vendors globally

• Maintain raw materials quality standards; evaluate and advise on material suppliers’ performance

• Manage testing and quality assurance control for all fabrics

• Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks aligned with the company's vision and strategy

Requirements

• DSE / Form 5 or above

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Manufacturing/RMG industry

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools

• Command of written and spoken English

• Strong product and material knowledge with good development skills

• Excellent negotiation skills

• Highly motivated and results driven

• Ability to remain composed under high-pressure situations

• Capable of handling sensitive situations and reacting accordingly

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively

• Candidates with less experience will be considered for Senior Fabric Merchandiser position
