Head of Sustainability (Ref# 066784)

Responsibilities

  • Assess the organization’s current sustainability performance and collaborate with management to identify and prioritize key sustainability goals and initiatives

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve sustainability and CSR policies to ensure the effectiveness of related initiatives

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to national and international compliance and environmental standards, while developing a cohesive sustainability plan

  • Act as the central point of contact for the sales team, factories, and customers in organizing social compliance audits and managing all follow-up actions

  • Establish and maintain internal controls and measurement systems (e.g.KPIs) to track and drive sustainable improvements

  • Support the local compliance team in reviewing social compliance audit reports, evaluating findings, addressing comments and questions, and guiding corrective action plans for no compliance issues at both office and factory levels

  • Identify risks and opportunities for the business related to environmental hazards within the supply chain

  • Engage with key industry groups to support and advance sustainability efforts

  • Stay updated on new laws, regulations, activities, and initiatives concerning environmental and social sustainability

  • Foster a culture of sustainability (e.g., energy conservation, environmental health and safety, and human 
    rights) through ongoing communication and education across the organization


Requirements

  • DSE / Form 5 or above in Environmental and Sustainability Studies or a related discipline

  • A minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Compliance, Health and Safety, preferably within the manufacturing industry

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proven experience in building and managing global teams, either directly or indirectly, within a matrix organization

  • Knowledge of international standards and labor, environmental, health, and safety regulations in production markets such as China, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, etc.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • High degree of work ethics and integrity

  • Ability to manage conflict and lead change effectively

  • Solid understanding of factory operations, practices, and processes

  • Frequent travel is required
