The Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) is looking for individuals to provide Central Data Centres services to the University. The appointee will be assigned to the Centre’s Central Operations Team, and will be required to perform shift duties, including beyond office hours, over-night, weekends, and public holidays. Monthly shift allowance will be provided.
The appointee will be responsible for
(a) assisting in infrastructure service desk functions to take care of incident management and request fulfilment;
(b) monitoring networks and various systems, fault reporting and escalation according to standard operation procedures;
(c) assisting in network, hardware system, and data centre infrastructure routine checks and troubleshooting; and
(d) assisting in daily operation tasks, such as asset management in data centre, entrance request handling, data backup, cable patching and other data centre works.
Applicants should have
(i) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics; OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects;
(ii) interests in data centre operations;
(iii) a positive attitude towards observing disciplinary codes of shift duty; and
(iv) good communication and interpersonal skills.
