We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn to ensure the safety facilities and equipment in the university laboratories are regularly and properly maintained, tested, and certified.

 

(a) testing and certifying laboratory safety cabinets;

(b) managing testing instruments to ensure they work well;

(c) transporting testing instruments and equipment to testing locations safely;

(d) responding to various service requests as needed; and

(e) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. On-the-job training will be provided.

 

(i) completed secondary education;

(ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in other Language subjects;

(iii) at least 1 year’s work experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;

(iv) the ability to read technical instructions in English and Chinese; and

(v) the willingness to work in laboratory environments and comply with strict safety protocols. Possession of a valid driving licence (Class 1), and work experience in laboratories, clinics, and hospitals are preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take a fitness test as appropriate.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
