Responsibilities
Monitor quality throughout the new product development and manufacturing processes. Identify problems during product development and manufacturing, implementing corrective actions and improvement
Manage QC & QA reports and conduct inspections to identify quality issues
Conduct benchmarking and market reviews to enhance quality standards
Collaborate with key stakeholders (internal departments, suppliers, customers) to resolve production, logistics & inventory issues
Develop and implement sourcing strategies: This includes identifying potential suppliers, material sourcing, sample placing & follow-up, negotiating prices & delivery, and managing supplier relationships
Ensure quality control: This involves setting quality standards, implementing quality control procedures, conducting supplier audits, and managing product testing and inspection. Familiar with EU, US and CN markets
Lead and manage the china team, overseeing sampling, production & products’ quality control
Identify and mitigate risks: This includes assessing potential risks in the supply chain, logistics, sampling and production, developing strategies to mitigate them
Source and communicate new supplier. This includes negotiating terms, managing orders delivery, suppliers/manufacturer’s performance, and resolving issues
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards: This ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Handle ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements
DSE / Form 5 or above
Strong understanding of supply chain management, merchandising and sourcing: This includes knowledge of various sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and contract negotiation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is essential for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Strong QC & QA management skills. Proven experience in quality control and assurance, quality control procedures, supplier audits, and product testing etc.
Knowledge of bags, footwear, toys, lifestyle products, fashion & accessories industry regulations and standards: This ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment: This is necessary for managing the complexities of sourcing and quality control in China
Effectively communicate & negotiation skills with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams. Work with various departments, including designer, QC & sales teams to ensure product design intent and quality standards are met. Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers
MS Office Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office applications for reporting and data analysis.
Languages: Proficiency in English, Mandarin & Cantonese
Personal Attributes: Reliable, self-motivation, and adaptability, with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure to meet deadlines
Travel Flexibility: Occasional travel to Mainland China, supporting on-site operations and supplier relationships
