The Senior Manager (Innovation), reporting to the Head of IT, is accountable for spearheading continuous innovation and maintaining AVSECO’s leadership position in aviation security (AVSEC) technologies deployment, ensuring Hong Kong International Airport remains safe, efficient and user-friendly.
The position is pivotal in advancing the vision, strategy, and methodologies used to innovate aviation security and their operations, introducing novel or disruptive ideas, improving existing processes, and creating a culture of innovation within the company.
The position monitors new technologies, determines the right technologies, and the optimal time to implement them, in alignment to business priorities. The position serves as the primary liaison on aviation security technologies with external research and advance technology institutes, and international aviation bodies.
- Develop, implement and oversee strategies and processes for sustainable innovation;
- Cultivate relationships with international aviation bodies, academics, research institutes, start-ups, vendors, and the Airport Authority;
- Evaluate market trends and aviation security operations insights to establish an innovation roadmap to track, priorities and time technology adoption;
- Provide resources to promote a culture of innovation within the company;
- Invite internal teams and external partners to propose novel ideas and assess the feasibility of new ideas through proof of concepts and operational trial where necessary;
- Direct innovation projects and oversee resources, budgets and progress;
- Communicate progress and results of innovation projects to senior executives and stakeholders;
- Explore to monetise advance AVSEC technologies deployed in the Hong Kong International Airport; and
- Manage a small technical service support and Helpdesk team.
- Master degree in Engineering, Science or Information & Communication Technologies;
- 8+ years working experience with 5 years at relevant managerial level in implementation of new technologies;
- Strong strategic thinking and vision-setting abilities;
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends, preferably in aviation security, and their potential applications to security screening, access control and intrusion detection;
- Proven experience driving innovation initiatives in a corporate environment;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external senior executives;
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional innovation teams;
- Preferably with experience in aviation or aviation security industry;
- Familiarity with various innovation methodologies and tools to drive the innovation process; and
- Fluent in both English and Chinese, Putonghua a definite asset.
