Responsibilities
To lead and manage a team of Product Developers and oversee the smooth workflow in sampling/ development and approvals of various trim items and new products
Ensure that development directions/ specifications are clearly understood and passed on to vendors/ suppliers for proper sample execution
Reviews item actual samples if accurate as per the requested specifications before it is released customer/ brand/ handling sales manager
Keeping track of the various developments in work and provide regular status updates to brand/ handling Sales Manager
Ensure that set sampling leadtimes are followed and requested deadlines are met
Proper facilitating of item approvals by accurate and timely distribution of information to both internal Production Departments and manufacturing supplier/ vendor for proper bulk production processing
Understanding and analyzing prices to ensure that targets are achieved and overall pricing scheme is competitive to market standards
Maintain a strong working partnership with current vendors and suppliers
Continuously growing the vendor/ supplier base selection to keep up with market trends/ new development requests
Maintaining and growing a library of material references and selections
Direct hands-on involvement/ handling of special high-profile brands
Requirements
DSE / Form 5 graduated with relevant training and experience as a Supervisor in related field
5-8 years’ supervisory experience in garment trims product development or a related comparable field
Extensive technical knowledge and understanding of trim products/ construction/ fabrication/ materials/ techniques/ manufacturing/ pricing (eg: hangtags/ labels/ buttons and other hardware)
Knowledgeable and aware of industry pricing structures and rates
Excellent leadership, project management, collaboration skills, and the ability to drive results from both the team of product developers and supplier base
Ability to proactively manage multiple projects in a fast paced, change oriented environment, but flexible enough to adapt to changes
Results-oriented and efficient time management skills to ensure the accurate and timely completion of projects
Takes a proactive approach to problem solving; has the ability to anticipate and trouble-shoot issues and consequently determine solutions or an alternative approach to resolve problems/ limitations
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and liaise well with other departments
Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
Good computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook; Acrobat; Illustrator and Photoshop
Good English writing skills
Fluent in English and Putonghua
