As a member of the technical team, the appointee will be responsible for
- (a) setting up and supporting the Department’s network, IT infrastructure, and systems;
- (b) administering Linux servers, network equipment, and firewalls;
- (c) developing and maintaining in-house web applications;
- (d) providing technical support to staff and students; and
- (e) performing other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have
- (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline;
- (ii) hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining network equipment;
- (iii) experience in web programming and Linux server administration; and
- (iv) strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Having knowledge of and experience in setting up VPNs will be advantageous. Having Cisco certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, are highly desirable.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
