The Office of University General Education is recruiting an Assistant Computer Officer to provide support to the University General Education programme and the General Education China programme.
The appointee will be responsible for
- (a) developing and maintaining web applications;
- (b) designing graphics and animations for digital and print media;
- (c) video shooting and editing;
- (d) desktop publishing;
- (e) providing technical support; and
- (f) undertaking other tasks as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
Applicants should have
- (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering, Computer Studies/Science, or related disciplines;
- (ii) at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in IT/web application development, including webpage design and development (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP), desktop publishing and graphic design (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), video editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro), and experience with content management systems (CMS) (e.g. WordPress and Drupal);
- (iii) a good command of English and Chinese;
- (iv) strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills; and
- (v) a strong sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for teamwork.
