Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Execution
- Lead the development of our Hong Kong product matrix in alignment with company goals, customer needs, and competitive dynamics
- Translate business objectives into actionable product roadmaps covering key areas such as:
- Equities , Futures and Options trading (HK, US, A-shares access, HK and Global Futures and Option products)
- Funds distribution (mutual funds, money market, MMF sweep)
- Wealth management (advisory, DPM, cash management)
- Virtual assets (where permitted)
- Work closely with UI/UX, Product Managers, and Engineering to ensure all product launches are designed with compliance built-in from day one
- Drive pre-launch readiness reviews covering business model, risk disclosures, user journey, and operational setup
- Monitor product performance and user feedback post-launch to support iterative enhancements
Regulatory & Licensing Responsibilities
- Act as a licensed Responsible Officer under SFC Type 1/2/4 (as applicable)
- Take overall responsibility for the firm’s compliance in respective licensed activities, especially product-related compliance
- Lead regulatory submissions to SFC including new business line applications, business plans, internal controls documentation, and change notifications
- Oversee internal control processes relevant to licensed activities, including policies on onboarding, disclosures, suitability, and record-keeping
Cross-Functional Business Partnership
- Serve as the bridge between business, compliance, back office, and technology teams, ensuring regulatory feasibility and commercial viability are integrated early in the product cycle
- Lead internal product approval committees and contribute to go-to-market strategy discussions
- Coordinate with Mainland China product and R&D teams on delivery timelines and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Licensed as a Responsible Officer under SFC Type 1/2/4, or demonstrably eligible. Priority will be given to those with a Type 9 license
- 8+ years in financial services, ideally with experience at fintech brokerages, wealth platforms, or digital banks
- At least 3 years in a product management, strategy, or regulatory advisory role for financial products in Hong Kong
- First-hand experience leading SFC submissions and engaging with regulatory representatives
- Deep understanding of Hong Kong’s retail investment market, including customer behavior, regulatory constraints, and competitive landscape
- Experience building or advising on financial products such as funds, equities, DPM, or virtual assets
- Knowledge of PRD writing, Agile workflow, and working with tech teams is a strong plus
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin
