Underwriting Manager (General Insurance Group | Property and casualty)
DNA Recruit Partners is collaborating with a prestigious General Insurance group, one of the largest globally, ranked in the Fortune 500. Their extensive operations cover various regions worldwide, offering a diverse range of general insurance products like Marine cargo, property and casualty, Fire insurance, etc. Currently, they are seeking an Underwriting Manager to join their team. This role offers a dynamic multi-cultural environment, an MNC setting, and an attractive package.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficient technical skills in underwriting various general insurance products.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities, manage existing portfolios to meet sales and retention goals.
  • Regularly engage with potential and current brokers to nurture strong relationships.
  • Optimize sales revenue within underwriting parameters.
  • Mentor and supervise team members to enhance their skills and growth.
  • Analyze business performance metrics like loss ratio and growth rate, provide insights for management.
  • Collaborate with Accounts and producers on credit control processes.
  • Prepare account summaries and statistics for management reports.
 
Requirements:
  • University degree or higher qualification.
  • Recognized insurance certifications like ANZIIF or ACII (or similar).
  • Minimum 10 years in general insurance with expertise in underwriting, servicing, and marketing through international brokers.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record in broker relationship management.
  • Experience in developing underwriting guidelines and pricing models.
  • Proficiency in English and Cantonese (written and spoken).
  • Strong market awareness and intelligence.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PC skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to thrive under pressure.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
