Their extensive operations cover various regions worldwide, offering a diverse range of general insurance products like Marine cargo, property and casualty, Fire insurance, etc. Currently, they are seeking an Underwriting Manager to join their team. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proficient technical skills in underwriting various general insurance products.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities, manage existing portfolios to meet sales and retention goals.
- Regularly engage with potential and current brokers to nurture strong relationships.
- Optimize sales revenue within underwriting parameters.
- Mentor and supervise team members to enhance their skills and growth.
- Analyze business performance metrics like loss ratio and growth rate, provide insights for management.
- Collaborate with Accounts and producers on credit control processes.
- Prepare account summaries and statistics for management reports.
Requirements:
- University degree or higher qualification.
- Recognized insurance certifications like ANZIIF or ACII (or similar).
- Minimum 10 years in general insurance with expertise in underwriting, servicing, and marketing through international brokers.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven track record in broker relationship management.
- Experience in developing underwriting guidelines and pricing models.
- Proficiency in English and Cantonese (written and spoken).
- Strong market awareness and intelligence.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PC skills.
- Self-motivated, able to thrive under pressure.
- Customer-centric mindset.
