Brand Associate - China & APAC markets ($33k, contract till Dec 2025)

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to translate English to Mandarin (written simplified Chinese and fluent speaking) and vice versa to be able to provide meaningful feedback on marketing collateral in each language.
  • Work with the Joint Venture team in Shanghai to help create effective and compliant communications; represent and advocate for a customer and brand perspective in cross-functional brand clinics.
  • Train the Joint Venture and banks on the company brand (in Mandarin and English as required) as well as APAC markets.
  • Review marketing collateral against brand guidelines for the wider APAC region including Australia, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
  • Be consultative and proactively offer creative solutions and help resolve conflicting points of view between key stakeholders.
  • Use customer insights to improve marketing and customer engagement.
  • Help lead brand forums/clinics with the Joint Venture and APAC markets.
  • Perform quarterly audits by scoring marketing creative against a checklist. Gathering good/bad creative examples to illustrate the team’s impact.
  • Help with monthly and quarterly reporting of team review statistics.
  • Provide superb customer service: ensure timely, accurate and courteous follow-up.

Requirements:

  • Needs to fluently speak English and Mandarin; be confident with written simplified Chinese.
  • Excellent English and Chinese communications skills, including ability to edit copy quickly and in real-time.
  • 3+ years’ experience in an agency or brand/marketing role. Experience in creating and managing communications, either from the client-side or agency-side.
  • Can think critically and creatively to help access marketing creatives to ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Be able to exercise good judgement and escalate more complex decisions and issues.
  • Be able to develop and maintain relationships across the enterprise with key stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who can function autonomously yet know when to ask for direction.
  • Must be organized, dedicated, motivated and flexible with strong customer service/interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficient, fluency in Powerpoint preferred.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms in China preferred.
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the brand and the customer.
  • Must be flexible to work out of hours as required for London and New York City based team.
