Senior IT Project Manager (Insurance AI applications projects) $60k UP
Our client, , Global insurance company, is now looking for Lead IT Project Manager to join their technical development teams.
 
We are embarking on exciting AI initiatives to transform our business processes and deliver superior value to our customers. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead these initiatives and ensure their successful execution.

 

The Project Manager, Operations Transformation is accountable for all project management activities and governance, ensuring the successful and smooth execution of the operations transformation and innovation projects.

 
The successful candidate will partner closely with the AVP, Operations Innovation to deliver against Asia and Global Operations transformation strategies across all markets. The Lead will collaborate with Country Operations Transformations Leads as well as technology, regional partners, marketing, distribution etc., as needed.
 
Work arrangement: 3 days onsite (Tue-Thur) and 2 days WFH
 
Duties:
  •  Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

    Team Leadership:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including business SMEs, data scientists, business analysts etc., to ensure project milestones are achieved.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

    Stakeholder Communication:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress.

  • Present project plans and reports to senior management.

    Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.

    Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all AI initiatives are delivered to the highest quality standards.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

    Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets.

  • Track project costs and ensure adherence to budgets.

    AI Expertise:

  • Stay informed about the latest developments in AI technologies and methodologies.

  • In conjunction with technical team, evaluate and recommend AI tools and technologies that can  enhance project outcomes.

    Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with marketing and tech teams to integrate and assess the feasibility of innovative solutions.

Individual Accountabilities:
  • Execution: Ensure timely and effective execution of assigned tasks.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.

  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

    Key Shared Accountabilities

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Strategic Objectives: Contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the Operations Transformation and Capability Development department.

  • Support: Support the AVP and Head of Operations Transformation, Innovation and Performance in achieving departmental KPIs and objectives.

    Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:

  • Bachelor’s in business administration, project management, economics, or equivalent.

  • At least 7 years relevant experience in Project Management or Leadership

  • Agila / lean, PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

  • Proficiency in relevant project management and analytical tools.

  • Self-motivated, independent with minimal supervision and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Execution focused with a keen problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong understanding of AI principles, tools, and methodologies.

  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project streams simultaneously.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Problems/Challenges:

  • Change management: Overcome reluctance to new technologies or processes. Develop and implement effective change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Complexity: Manage the complexity and scope of large-scale transformation projects that may span multiple departments and functions.
  • Alignment Across Departments: Ensure cross functional alignment and collaboration, address potential conflicts or misalignments that may arise during projects.
