They are now looking for an Assistant Underwriting Manager who will be supporting the Head of Property Lines & assisting to manage the Property Lines portfolio and responsible for underwriting a profitable book of business.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Assistant Underwriting Manager ( GI Property line focus)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to drive profitable growth for the Property and Technical Lines portfolio.
  • Conduct risk analysis, manage exposures, and negotiate within established pricing processes and guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to promote new business and ensure renewal retention.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various segments and distribution channels to ensure teamwork and consistent messaging.
  • Support the training and development of Property and Technical Lines underwriters to maintain high performance and expertise.
  • Aid in the Peer Review process, Underwriting Audits, and Underwriting Referrals, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure the accuracy of account data across various systems and databases.
  • Conduct business in full compliance with Group policies and relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Property and Technical Lines underwriting, including servicing complex multinational accounts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in data.
  • Proven skills in building business relationships and establishing credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced negotiation skills and capability in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities; self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Team player with experience in mentoring underwriting staff.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
