Job Duties

• Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of the Office, providing leadership and strategic direction on the utilization of digital information and emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and data analytics, while driving innovation and digital transformation in alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan.
• Support the Director in formulating and implementing cutting-edge IT strategies, policies, and services to achieve the University’s key goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders within the University to align IT resources and project initiatives with the institution’s educational and research priorities.
• Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
• Oversee the implementation and integration of cloud-based software as a service platforms and AI technologies to enhance learning and teaching, facilitating the adoption of innovative and interactive pedagogies.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the University’s information assets, as well as compliance with personal data protection regulations across university application systems.
• Enhance the learning and teaching community's ability to understand and leverage learning data through exploration and visualization.
• Develop and manage the IT infrastructure and hybrid cloud software environment, providing a stable and secure endpoint environment for staff and students.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or the Central Management of the University as needed.

Job Qualifications

• A recognized degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in a senior IT management role within sizable corporations or tertiary institutions, with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience at the management level or in key positions.
• Extensive hands-on experience in applying AI and Machine Learning to enhance efficiency and address business challenges in the commercial or higher education sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a diverse team of IT professionals.
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering IT projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Mandarin.
