Business Development Manager (Government Technical Sales)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement innovative sales strategies that align with organizational goals and achieve ambitious revenue targets in the government sector.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain influential relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within government agencies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their needs and objectives.
  • Tender Proposal Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end management of tender submissions, ensuring that proposals meet all regulatory requirements and effectively address client specifications.
  • Market Insight and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities, positioning the organization as a leader in government technical sales.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to ensure that client requirements are effectively integrated into product and service offerings.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Analyze sales performance data and market feedback, providing actionable insights and regular updates to senior leadership on business development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in technical sales and business development, particularly within the government sector.
  • Proven track record of securing government contracts and managing complex tender processes.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and compliance regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
